A New Beginning
Following the untimely passing of Ray Haradin in June 2025 the Old Toy Soldier world faced an uncertain future. Ray had been the driving force behind both the Old Toy Soldier publication and the associated Old Toy Soldier Auction business. Both of these businesses were brought to a close with his passing.
This announcement prompted strong interest in continuing a publication serving the collector community. While Nancy Haradin, Ray’s wife, has been supportive of these efforts, any continuation has required the development of a new and independent structure.
These matters have now been resolved, and we are pleased to report that Old Toy Soldier Journal website and the associated magazine will be launched under new ownership. This new publication is intended to carry forward the spirit and tradition associated with the past magazine; but it is a newly established and independent venture. It is not a continuation of, or affiliated with, the prior sole proprietorship, owned by Ray.
Rob Wilson, who has edited the Journal since 2020, and Harry Kemp (a contributing author) will manage the new business activities.
Contributors are encouraged to submit ideas for future articles and other content.

We are planning to produce a double issue which will be freely available, online to all subscribers. This will be published on this website in the late summer of 2026.
Going forward, we will be offering a new subscription service under the new entity. Details will follow later this year.
